A Northern Water Snake (Nerodia sipedon sipedon) sighting along the shoreline of Great Pond in Belgrade yesterday during the Great Pond Watershed Survey.
Northern Water Snakes are dark brown to gray with reddish brown/black blotches along their backs, are found in aquatic and semi-aquatic habitats, and eat primarily fish.
