The ferns, shrubs, saplings and patio you see here replaced a typically suburban setting on Great East Lake and earned a LakeSmart Award for its owners.
Its designer, David Maynes, used an approach called "Context Driven Design" to beautify the site, control erosion, and protect the lake. Come hear his talk, the Bright-minded Home," for a novel and lake wise approach to any project.
